‘Issa Ċ-Ċans’: Arnold Cassola Erects Banners Near PN And PL Campaigns
Independent MEP candidate Arnold Cassola has launched his electoral campaign and manifesto “Issa ċ-Ċans”, strategically placing his banners near those of the PN and the PL as a comment on Malta’s bipartisan political system.
Cassola erected one banner with his slogan in between two of the Nationalist Party’s “Għalik” campaign on Regional Road by the roundabout of Santa Venera and Ħamrun.
Elsewhere Cassola’s banners can be seen touching that of the Labour Party, with its slogan “Is-Saħħa lill-Maltin”.
Cassola’s banner reads “Now’s The Chance! For a just, healthy, strong, and beautiful Malta”.
“The Maltese people are looking forward to breaking the two-party 58-year-old duopoly and to a new Malta that promises a future of Justice, Modernity, Health and Beauty.”
“Such aims are truly achievable. The excitement is palpable!”
Cassola launched his manifesto not long after Opposition Leader Bernard Grech questioned what independent candidates have done for Malta.
Cassola quickly rebutted, saying that he has always been on the “right side of history” especially when it comes to environmental concerns, and questioned whether the bigger parties can say the same.
“I won’t bore you with a list of the battles I’ve endured. My pristine track record on this is a matter of public record. Can the bigger parties say the same?” he wrote on social media
“Indeed, over the past five years, I’ve held MANY high-profile political figures to account, securing significant victories for the common Maltese citizen. Yet, that is the past.”
