Maltese drummer Daniel Said has just reached another milestone in his booming career, playing on the Today Show live on CBS in New York.

“I don’t even know what’s happening… but it’s great,” Said told Lovin Malta while expressing the sheer excitement that’s come with this whirlwind of a year.

Said is currently the drummer for Myles Smith, a British artist who boasts over a million fans and who is taking the Maltese musician with him across the world for his two upcoming tours: The Slightly Less Lonely Tour (2024) and the We Were Never Strangers Tour (2025).

The team is currently knee-deep in the first tour, having just finished most of the European leg where they played major festivals like Glastonbury. Soon they’ll move on to South Africa where they’ll play two shows in August, before finally travelling to Canada and the United States where they’re set to play over 30 shows between September and the start of November.

Amid all this, the three musicians stopped over in New York for this feature on the Today Show where they played Myle Smith’s new song Stargazing yesterday. Said is the first Maltese artist to ever feature on this major American live show while Myles Smith is just one of a handful of British artists to have appeared.

Meanwhile, the team also featured on Vevo – the world’s leading music video network for another exclusive interview, toward the end of June.

Not too long ago, Myles Smith also announced the Australia and New Zealand tour for November of this year with shows in Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne, and Aukland.
