This past week, after months of meticulous preparation and extensive training, the Alive 2024 Cycling Challenge for Cancer was completed.

36 cyclists, supported by a dedicated six-member backup crew, started a 1,200 km journey over seven days, starting from Milan, Italy, passing through France and finishing in Girona, Spain in aid of cancer research with funds collected through donations.

The ALIVE Charity Foundation is a non-profit, non-governmental organisation that raises funds for Cancer Research and Awareness.

The team had the honour of meeting with Her Excellency, Dr. Myriam Spiteri Debono, who offered words of encouragement and best wishes before they took off to Milan on 20th June.

The cyclists faced many challenging conditions such as persistent rain, gusty winds and bouts of sunshine, gruelling climbs and tough descents, having to navigate through busy traffic and even having to deal with a vehicle of theirs breaking down.

Despite all these adversities they kept a positive mindset and were motivated to complete the challenge they had set in mind. Teamwork was absolutely critical, and the cyclists stuck together, showing outstanding unity and strength. driven by the hope that the research possible with funds from this event will lead to a cure.
