11-year-old race car driver Jessica Calleja has been nominated for the Iron Dames Young Talent programme which aims at fostering the international talent of aspiring young females in the world of motorsports.

Lovin Malta caught up with the rising star last month who shared that her biggest aspiration is to race in Formula 1, a male-dominated race. Her passion for the sport began when she was just eight years old, and having parents who are also race car drivers only helped her fall in love with the sport even more.

Jessica’s determination and talent have been recognised at an international level with her nomination for the Iron Dames Young Talent. The program aims at detecting and supporting young female talents in karting worldwide.

With a goal to provide a platform for aspiring female racers to pursue a career in motorsports, we have no doubt that Jessica will soar.

This program is happening at Franciacorta Karting Track in Brescia, Italy, between the 29th and 30th of July.

“This is a great opportunity for me and those who have been by my side, constantly supporting me throughout this incredible journey. We keep focused and push through,” Jessica commented.

Congratulations Jessica!
