Love Island Malta has taken a twist into the dramatic in the last couple of episodes, adding everything from a double elimination with a chance of redemption to a Casa Amor Twist thanks to four new bombshells. And of course, last night’s tense kissing challenge, which had fans sarcastically saluting Matthias.

Amidst all of this, the show’s producers are being hailed for the incredible job they’re doing in turning up the heat in the villa.. and one of them has now opened up with Lovin Malta about the feedback the show has been receiving.

“It’s amazing,” Ben Camille told Lovin Malta. “The reactions to the last couple of episodes, particularly last night’s, have been so good. The feedback is great and it’s why we do this!”

“I’ve had people come up to me telling me they haven’t watched TV with their kids in over a decade but they’re doing it now. People are coming together as a family to watch… some even ended up using it as a sex education icebreaker!”

“We enjoy seeing the community coming together to follow and discuss this,” Camille continued. “No matter what race, religion, politics you might subscribe to – at least, we can all unite with a topic to discuss when it comes to Love Island.”

Camille also went on to address the ongoing drama with the Casa Amor Twist… and previous comments of people saying the show is “all drama but no relationships”.

“In my opinion we already have three solid relationships, one of which has obviously been going on steadier for much longer,” Camille said. “So there’s definitely relationships in there, there are connections.”

“These are real human emotions you see, none of it is scripted,” he asserted. “I admire each and every contest for being so vulnerable and honest.”

“And as for Casa Amor Twist, well, the truth is what happens next will either kill or make certain couples,” he teased. “It really puts couples’ connections to the ultimate test.”

And with half of Love Island Malta’s second season behind us, it’s anyone’s guess as to all the dramatic twists and turns that await us.
