Bjorn Formosa has revealed that the voice he had prior to ALS has been preserved and will be used for future communication.

Yesterday, the Dar Bjorn founder shared that he can no longer speak, writing, “Losing my voice is a newly acquired disability that has put me in a very difficult situation”.

“It has put me out of the conversation and in a tough position to impose myself and share my ideas,” Bjorn stated in a social media post.

“People can’t hear me, and some of those who can will act as if they can’t understand what I want to say.”

However, earlier today, Bjorn posted a video to social media of him saying that his followers will now start hearing a new voice, specifically the voice he had prior to developing ALS.

“With the aid of technology, we’ve managed to preserve the voice I had prior to ALS, and we’re now poised to utilize it for communication,” Bjorn captioned the video.

After listening to the AI-generated voice of himself, he remarked, “That’s not half bad, right?”

The voice will debut on Saturday 4th May for the first time, along with the song for Dar Bjorn’s upcoming fundraiser, which will be held on 22nd September.

The fundraiser is called Sal-Aħħar Nifs, and the campaign’s official song bears the same name. Singer Fabrizio Faniello will debut the revamped version on Saturday at 8 pm on One.

In a heartfelt statement posted yesterday, Bjorn reflected on his journey with ALS, saying that “slowly, slowly, it takes everything away from you”.

“At the same time, it gives me incredible motivation to continue fighting it,” he continued.

“Silently, I will shout louder than I ever had. I will continue to be a beacon of light for those who are struggling alone and continue working to open fundamental facilities for those who are in desperate need and can’t have their voices heard. I can hear you loud and clear!”

“You can show your support already by sending an SMS Donation to 50619271 – €11.65 or BOV Mobile Pay 79096249 or Revolut 79209420,” Bjorn stated.
