Get ready for a summer of art and culture as the Eastern Region of Malta launches the lVANt project, part of its Region of Culture initiatives. From 3rd – 23rd July, lVANt will redefine cultural experiences across 12 localities with a vibrant touring van.

What’s lVANt All About?

Think of lVANt as an entertainment van, bringing the best local talent right to your neighbourhood. Organized by Kunsill Reġjonali Lvant, this initiative, led by President Anthony Chircop and Executive Secretary Jeanette Galea, with Artistic Director Daniel Cauchi, aims to make the arts accessible and engaging for everyone.

With free performances, the project focuses on bringing people together and celebrating local art and culture. Plus, it’s eco-friendly, using batteries to power sound and lighting instead of traditional fuel generators.

What’s the Plan?

For four weeks, lVANt will deliver entertainment to the heart of various towns. Each event will feature local artists or entertainers, with comedians Carlos Debattista and Matthew Sant Sultana adding plenty of laughs along the way.

  • Week 1 (3rd – 5th July): Kick off with The Travellers in Balluta Square and Gżira Promenade, followed by a contemporary dance from Subversive Collection at Ta’ Xbiex and Sliema. Close the week with comedy and music from Matthew Sant Sultana and Skald in Ħal-Lija.
  • Week 2 (11th – 12th July): Enjoy performances by Krista Sujak, Reb and Jon, and David Cauchi in Msida, and rock with Klinsmann in St. Julian’s.
  • Week 3 (18th, 20th, 21st July): Exclusive cultural experiences for Skolasajf students and a night of diverse performances in Pembroke.
  • Week 4 (22nd – 23rd July): An outreach program in Għargħur for children with disabilities, traditional performances, and a grand finale with Red Electric in Mrieħel.
