A 56-year-old Swedish man has lost his life in a diving accident in Dwejra, Gozo.

The man formed part of a group of three who entered the water. The man was the only one to run into difficulty, however, one of the other divers was able to bring him to shore.

Police and ambulances arrived on the scene at 11:30 am. However, he was declared dead on arrival.

Magistrate Paul Coppini is leading the inquiry. Investigations are on-going.
