12 Shows You Need To Watch Now That Summer’s Almost Over
Gotta watch them all
We all know about Malta's relationship with some of our TV shows, so as September draws to an end, you're gonna need some international series to keep you on the edge of your seat when the excitement of the summer break is over. Most of the 12 shows below can be found on Netflix, and as for the rest... well, we're sure you can find a DVD or something.
Some of the below are returning series that you'll need to remind yourself of all this shit that went down, others are brand new.
1. Stranger Things
Seriously, if you want to survive any conversation about TV for the coming months - get watching. It's also the perfect series to watch with your superstitious relative who thinks there may be demons hiding in the walls.
Who doesn’t love the warm and fuzzies from a pitch-perfect audition, or a classic tone-deaf fail? Everyone says they've 'stopped watching this year' but you know they're lying and a secretly raging about last week's eliminations.
3. House Of Cards
A story of manipulation, and power-hungry people - we all like to pretend we're Claire/Frank sometimes.
4. The Big Bang Theory
Admit it, this show basically feeds into your secondary school desperation for the nerd-meets-hot-girl-and-they-fall-in-love experience.
Origin stories can be hit or miss, but thankfully this one is quite the hit. The dark atmosphere of the series is intriguing enough to keep everyone hooked.
6. American Horror Story
The horror phenomenon that everyone talks about and loves (except some seasons which we love to hate). This is definitely one to watch when the lights go out, which tends to be quite often in Malta.
7. Hell’s Kitchen
A nice throwback to the days your mother tried to teach you how to cook, Gordon Ramsay hurls the most colourful insults throughout this show. Pure entertainment with a side of education right there.
8. The Walking Dead
Prone to the occasional dip in excitement, the last few seasons of this show have been out of this world. Also - you get to watch the survivors fighting off the Walkers who have taken over the world - aka Monday morning.
9. Modern Family
A fun comedy to watch with the rest of the family, and test the tolerance levels of your older relatives.
10. How To Get Away With Murder
The greatest murder mystery on television at the moment. Sure the drama levels are ramped up, but who said that's a bad thing?
11. The Exorcist
Yes, you read (and saw that hideous GIF) correctly, it’s coming to a TV set near you. Here's to it providing a lifetime of nightmare fuel.
A show that'll leave you on the edge of your seat, and make you desperate to learn Spanish. We know you all loved ‘Breaking Bad’, so might as well get on this ASAP.
