Do Not Swim Here: Health Warning Issued For Waters Off Mediterranean Street In Valletta

A health warning has been issued for the waters off Mediterranean Street, Valletta – below the Mediterranean Conference Centre.

The Environmental Health Directorate within the Superintendence of Public Health issued a statement to notify the public that bathing is not recommended in the area due to foul water affecting the bathing water quality.

The EHOs are investigating to determine the source of contamination. The duration of the contamination cannot be predicted at this stage. The Directorate will be issuing another statement once the area is safe for bathing.

For further information, the public is kindly requested to contact the Environmental Health Directorate between 8am and 2.30pm on telephone number 21337333 or by email on [email protected]. The public is also being invited to access the Directorate’s Facebook page, their official website or the EHD Bathing Portal on for similar information.
