No Humans Allowed! Here Are Malta’s Dog-Friendly Beaches To Help You Enjoy Summer With Your Pooch

Article Featured Image

A day at the beach is one of the best ways you can beat this blistering summer heat. It’s also one of the only ways you can enjoy being outdoors with your dog too.

That’s why we’re bringing you a list of all the dog-friendly beaches the Maltese islands have to offer and we’ve also included a link to their location, so you don’t have to hassle finding them!

It’s important to keep in mind that dogs are not allowed to swim in most sandy beaches around Malta, unless there is a sign specifically allowing it, and the local council hasn’t banned them either.

1. Xwejni Bay – (Marsalforn)

Starting off in Gozo, we have Xwejni Bay, known for its salt pans. Dogs are allowed to swim here, but must be kept on a leash while on land.

Although this is the ‘official’ list, it doesn’t mean that dogs can’t swim elsewhere. In fact, dogs are allowed to swim in areas that are 1) not sandy beaches 2) not an official bathing area 3) don’t have a local council sign prohibiting dogs.
