Article Featured Image

A sewage overflow at Perched Beach, Buġibba, has prompted authorities to notify swimmers that “bathing is not recommended”.

This warning shouldn’t be ignored as the sewage overflow affects the water quality and presents a risk to bathers’ health, the Environmental Health Directorate within the Superintendence of Public Health said.

Investigations into the origin of this contamination are currently ongoing.

While it is unknown when the water quality will be restored, the warning signs surrounding the area (site code: C27) will be removed and another statement by Public Health will be issued to the public.
