10.5-Metre Crochet Christmas Tree Earns Għaxaq A New Malta Record
The Għaxaq Craft Club and Għaxaq Local Council achieved a new national record for the largest crochet Christmas tree in Malta.
The achievement was celebrated by The Malta Records who handed a certificate to the volunteers, who took on the task, yesterday evening. This new record broke that of five years ago and the tree measures 10.5 metres of height and 3.25 metres width.
The celebration took place in Piazza Santa Marija as the Local Council inaugurated activities for this festive season under the name “Mixegħla tal-Milied fil-Pjazza.”
The Malta Records praised the Local Council, led by mayor Karl Boxall, as well as the group of volunteers.
