Here’s Everything That’s Gone Down At The Lovin Milied Challenge So Far

You are still in time to take part in the #LovinMiliedChallenge, with only one week left and hundreds of gift boxes needed.

Lovin Milied is Lovin Malta’s yearly initiative to gather festive boxes and distribute them to various local foundations, homes, and NGOs to help vulnerable people and animals in different categories.

With special thanks to Keepmeposted and Gasan Foundation, KMP is generously donating one box for every job listing on their site until December 20th and Gasan Foundation donated €500 worth of boxes.

We have received a bunch of donations and we are thrilled to announce that our target for Gift Box 1 – Mother & Baby has now been completed.

But we still need hundreds of boxes for the following categories:

Box 2 – Kids Box (3-10)

  • Soft Toy such as an animal soft toy, teddy bear, cartoon soft toy, snowman soft toy or similar
  • Small Fun Present like a yoyo, skipping rope, toy animal/ dinosaur, a pack of cards
  • Creativity Gift like crayons, colouring pencils, dried paint palette, activity book, colouring book, thin picture book, sticker book
  • Christmas Decoration
  • Christmas Themed Chocolate Treat
Box 3 – Teen Unisex Box (11-16)
  • Earphones, pack of cards, wallet, tote bag or gadget
  • Toiletries like shower gel, soap, hair brush, sponge, mask
  • School supplies like a notebook, pens and pencils
  • Warm Socks
  • Christmas Decoration
  • Christmas Themed Chocolate Treat
Box 4 – Elderly Citizen Box
  • Cosy Lap Blanket
  • Warm Unisex Slippers or Hot Water Bottle
  • Toiletries like a scented soap or hand cream
  • A Christmas card in an envelope to open. This can be signed or anonymous, completely up to you
  • Christmas Decoration
  • Christmas Themed Chocolate Treat
Box 5 – Care Package
  • Pasta, Rice
  • Canned food
  • Cereal
  • Tea, Coffee, Powdered Milk
  • Biscuits
  • Toothpaste, toothbrush, soap, sponge
Box 6 – Doggie or Cat Treat Box
  • Wet food, any brand
  • Dry food, any brand
  • Treats, any brand
  • Blankets
  • Chew toy

Here’s how to make the gift boxes:

  1. Grab a shoebox
  2. Wrap the base and lid separately in festive wrapping paper. There’s no need to seal the box
  3. Pick a gift box from the ones listed above and fill it with the items listed
  4. Spread the Christmas cheer and get everyone you know involved by using the hashtag #LovinMiliedChallenge

Once your gift box is ready, you may drop it off either at Atlas Insurance at any of their many outlets around the island by 20th December, or you may also leave it at Lovin Malta’s Burmarrad offices by 21st December.

We are also thrilled to announce that MaltaCoop will be our transport partner, delivering the boxes to their rightful homes.

MaltaCoop has a fleet of 350 vehicles – the largest public transport fleet in Malta – and their providing a well-organised and efficient service to school students and the general public.

We highly encourage you to take part! It is not too late to gather the family and do something fun with the kids… and maybe make it a yearly tradition!
