Gozitan Team To Compete In International Bi-Annual Sports Event In Guernsey
Athletes from Gozo will be participating at the International Island Games 2023.
The International Island Games Association consists of 24 islands that gather every two years for friendly competitions across a maximum of 14 sports.
The 40 Gozitan athletes will be competing against athletes from 23 other islands around the world, including ones from Bermuda, Isle of Wight, and Gibraltar.
#TeamGozo will participate in football, mountain biking, table tennis, athletics, triathlon, shooting, and swimming.
Yesterday, the Minister for Gozo, Clint Camilleri, formally inaugurated and officially introduced the team, at the Gozo Stadium in Xewkija.
The competitions will take place in Guernsay, between 8th-14th July, starting with the opening ceremony on Saturday.
Thousands are expected to attend, including both athletes and supporters.
