Italian Teens Under Investigation For Alleged Group Sexual Assault In Malta
Five young Italian men, aged between 17 and 19, are under investigation in Treviso after a 19-year-old woman filed a complaint claiming she was gang raped while on holiday in Malta a few weeks ago.
The group, four from Brindisi and one from Lecce, allegedly met the woman during a night out on the island. According to her testimony, after spending the evening together in several clubs, she agreed to follow them back to their apartment as reported by Ansa.
It was there, she told police, that the alleged assault happened. She also claimed the attack was filmed on one of the suspects’ phones.
The five deny the accusations. Italian law enforcement have seized their phones, along with the young woman’s, as part of ongoing investigations to verify her account and gather further evidence.
