‘Lilu King’ Denied Bail After Alleged Assault In Sliema
Mohamed Ali Ahmed Elmushraty, also known as Lilu King, was denied bail after pleading not guilty to assaulting a man in Sliema earlier this month.
Elmushraty was charged with causing light injuries and breaching court conditions this morning in front of Magistrate Gabriella Vella.
The assault allegedly came about following a misunderstanding in Arabic between the two men in a restaurant in Sliema. According to the defence, the victim threw beer at Elmushraty.
The prosecution – led by Inspector Eman Hayman – argued that this triggered the accused to physically assault the man and chase him out of the establishment before they ended up brawling outside.
The prosecution pointed out that Elmushatry was in breach of three sets of bail conditions and a protection order in favour of the alleged victim was requested.
This is not Lilu King’s first run-in with the law. He was charged with money laundering, tax evasion and participation in organised crime last year and the Attorney General later filed drug trafficking charges against him.
This summer, an alleged road rage assault landed him back in court when he allegedly intentionally crashed into a buggy in Paceville while out on bail.
