A 29-year-old Italian man was arrested by police following a controlled delivery operation. The investigation began after authorities identified a package arriving from outside Malta containing a substance suspected to be MDMA.

On Thursday morning, police delivered the package to the address listed in Gżira, where the Italian man took possession of it and was immediately arrested. The package contained approximately four kilograms of MDMA, with an estimated street value of €200,000.

The man is expected to appear in court today around 11.30am.
