Michelle Muscat, the former Prime Minister’s wife, took to social media to share her thoughts about her Joseph Muscat’s gagging order, in light of the ongoing Vitals concession case.

“In a country where we boast about our European values, one where everyone can exercise their freedom of speech, the Advocate General decided to deprive my husband of speaking,” Michelle wrote, attaching a selfie of herself.

“What a state we’ve ended up in. Everyone can talk and make up fibs about this infamous inquiry (and about more than this).”

Muscat went on to say that everyone is making up lies and saying whatever they like, and meanwhile, “Joseph is the only one who cannot speak.”

“Who is he bothering when he speaks? Who doesn’t want him to continue communicating with people?” Michelle questioned.

“And now, that he cannot speak, more lies are spreading.”

“And on top of this, they think it’s a scandal to continue working in Malta and overseas,” she said, adding that these same people “think it’s a scandal to wake up in the morning and continue working.”

“These stories are hysterical, adequate for a movie,” Muscat continued.

“No wonder they were surprised at the enormous and civil crowd that gathered in Valletta. This is why I would like to thank everyone for the support they have been showing us wherever you bump into us.”

Two days ago, the former Prime Minister published a video following the prior day’s long court session which ended up with his assets frozen and a gagging order to not discuss the contents of the criminal case outside of court.

Despite Michelle’s statement, her husband isn’t the only person who “cannot speak”, with the rest of the accused also being issued a gagging order.

What do you make of Michelle’s statement?
