Watch: ‘The World Upside Down’ – Reactions To Jason Azzopardi’s Arrest
Earlier today, lawyer, former PN MP and vociferous government critic Jason Azzopardi was arrested and charged with filming in the Maltese law courts.
“The world upside down,” Azzopardi swiftly said to a journalist while walking into the courts this afternoon.
The footage in question shows Prime Minister Robert Abela and Justice Minister Jonathan Attard speaking in court last Monday following a Court of Appeals ruling that declared the State Advocate can – but is not obliged to act independently to recover funds in connection with the three hospitals’ concession to Steward and Vitals.
Azzopardi was arrested and is being charged with filming this clip which was soon published by NET News.
Meanwhile, PN MP David Casa also commented on this situation pointing out that “Joseph Muscat and his friends were called to court after stealing millions were from the backs of the population. To Jason because he allegedly took a video, they put him under arrest”.
Azzopardi has also received an influx of support from his followers while Repubblika activist Robert Aquilina pledged to be by his side supporting him in court.
