Three Sliema Shop Theft Suspects Arrested And To Appear In Court Today

Three individuals suspected of stealing money from a shop in Sliema and assaulting the cashier yesterday afternoon are appearing in court today before Duty Magistrate Jean Paul Grech.
Yesterday afternoon, two women, a 35-year-old resident of San Ġwann and a 25-year-old resident of Sliema, along with a 28-year-old man from Sliema, were arrested after allegedly assaulting a shop employee and committing theft from the same shop in Sliema.
At around 2:30pm, police assistance was requested at a shop on Triq ix-Xatt. Upon arrival, the police encountered a 31-year-old woman from San Ġwann, who reported that three individuals had entered the shop, assaulted her, and stolen a sum of cash before fleeing the scene.
With a description of the alleged aggressors, the police immediately began searching for the suspects and arrested them just an hour later on Triq ix-Xatt, Gżira. After conducting a search on the individuals, the police found the allegedly stolen items in their possession.
The cashier was later certified with minor injuries.
The three individuals will appear in court today at 1pm.
