Woman Handed Suspended Sentence For Having An Abortion
A 28-year-old woman was handed a suspended 22-month prison sentence after pleading guilty to having an abortion, Times of Malta reported.
A court heard that the woman bought abortion pills from the internet and in November 2024, went to the hospital after experiencing pain. She informed the doctors that she had a medical abortion and was criminally charged by the police.
She was arraigned under summons and given a 22-month prison term, suspended for two years.
