From Gozo To Għaxaq: Multiple Extreme National Fireworks Records To Be Attempted For Santa Marija

As we all know, Santa Marija is a huge deal across the Maltese Islands, and in Gozo, thousands of locals and tourists gather to admire the beautiful firework exhibitions.
Santa Marija celebrations this year are set to be bigger than ever, with different localities across Malta and Gozo attempting to break a number of firework related national records – with Mqabba, Għaxaq and Rabat, Gozo trying to one up each other in terms of weight, size and amount of fireworks let off at once.
A national record attempt for mechanised ground fireworks will be held in Mqabba this evening while in Ħal Għaxaq, a new record will be attempted for the largest volume and weight of fireballs in the air at once.
But that’s not all, because in Rabat, Gozo, a record for amount of fireworks set off at once is set to be broken.
All in all, this year’s celebrations for the highly anticipated Santa Marija will put previous years’ to shame, and if all goes as planned, several national records will be broken while viewers across the islands will enjoy a beautiful display of colour and light.
