Some truly “thrillifying” news for Maltese theatremaker Luke Saydon.

The creator behind local hit musicals Il-Kazin tal-Imqarbin and It-Teatru tal-Miskin has just landed a magical new role in London.

Luke has joined Wicked Active Learning and Starling Arts, where he’ll be travelling to schools and communities across the city to deliver the official workshops of the West End musical Wicked.

“It’s the biggest honour to get to deliver this work inspired by a musical that I adore,” Luke wrote. “I’ll get to musical direct, facilitate, and share the legacy of Wicked.”

This week also marks Anti-Bullying Week, with the Wicked education programme using the story of Elphaba and Glinda to inspire important conversations around kindness, confidence, and acceptance among young people.

Starling Arts promotes wellbeing through singing, while Wicked Active Learning is the official education programme tied to the long-running West End show at the Apollo Victoria Theatre.

Congrats Luke, here’s to this next chapter defying gravity!
