Karnival Tas-Sajf Returns After Three Years, Drawing Thousands In Attendance

Thousands of people attended Karnival tas-Sajf organised by Festivals Malta upon its return after a three-year hiatus.

This year’s event took place in Birżebbuġa, San Pawl il-Baħar and Marsaskala over the weekend from 18th to 20th August.

In total, 11 trailers participated in this popular carnival adorning Maltese streets which attracted locals and tourists alike.

Owen Bonnici, Minister for National Heritage, highlighted the event as an excellent opportunity for local artists to showcase their talents.

“We’re satisfied that after a three year absence l-Karnival tas-Sajf saw a large attendance of Maltese people and tourists,” Aaron Zahra Chairperson of Festivals Malta expressed.

Zahra continued, “we look forward to next February so that Festivals Malta together with carnival enthusiasts will organise another successful carnival.”

Next year’s Carnival is scheduled between the 9th and 13th February.
