Maltese Documentary On Traditional Christmas Cribs Wins Five Telly Awards In US
A documentary about the art of Maltese cribs won five awards in the prestigious Telly Awards competition in the United States!
The documentary, produced by Cooke Media Group in collaboration with the Museum of the Bible in Washington, D.C., was supported by the Cultural Directorate and the Ministry for National Heritage, the Arts, and local government.
In the documentary, titled Nativity: The Art of Maltese Crib-Making, Maltese cribs exhibited at the Museum of the Bible in Washington were showcased, along with interviews with Maltese crib makers and experts.
The documentary won three Silver Telly Awards, which are the highest honors in each category, for Television Editing, Television Writing, and Television Documentary (Long Form).
It also received two Bronze Telly Awards for Television Videography/Cinematography and Television Voiceover.
“The Cultural Directorate expresses its joy to the production team for this recognition, as well as to the Maltese crib makers, whose art continues to receive international acclaim,” it said in a statement.
The Directorate extended its gratitude to all those involved in the production and emphasised the ongoing collaboration with the Museum of the Bible in Washington, which will feature a number of Maltese cribs as part of its exhibits for the upcoming Christmas season.
