October is synonymous with cooler temperatures, the beginning of the scholastic year and a change of routine – but that is far from all.

The first Saturday of the month hosts one of Malta’s biggest annual arts and culture festivals, Notte Bianca – and you do not want to miss out on this year’s incredible offering.

Every year, the Valletta cityscape lights up with a spectacular celebration of the arts that is open to the public, free of charge. This year promises to build on the successes of past years with an amazing local lineup and a huge headline act.

Two stellar local acts, Klinsmann and The Mel Collective ft. Matthew James and Karin D will be warming up the crowd this Saturday 1st October.

At 10:45pm Italian pop rock band The Kolors will headline the Mainstage at St George’s Square, Valletta.

The Kolors was founded in 2010 and rose to fame after becoming the resident band of the popular club Le Scimmie in Milan. Their popularity surged leading them to perform as opening acts for Gossip, Hurts and Paolo Nutini.

In 2015, the band participated and won the popular talent show Amici di Maria de Filippi and they were also awarded the Premio della Critica by journalists. Later that year, they debuted their hit single ‘Everytime’ which received a platinum certification and reached the sixth position on the Italian Singles Chart.

The group went on to feature in the 2015 MTV Italian Music Awards, and collaborated with several artists including Amici runner-up artist Elodie.

In 2018, they competed at the Sanremo Music Festival with Frida (Mai, mai, mai) which also reached top ten in the Italian charts.

But that’s not all.

There are another six stages with artists like Freddie Portelli, George Curmi Puse’, Versatile Brass, Manatapu, Fakawi, Tribali and much more, plus various projects of performing arts.

All of this means one thing – lock in Notte Bianca on your calendar as this is one night not to be missed!
