Rock’N Malta 2025: A Record €1 Million Investment For 45 Concerts

A total of 45 concerts will be held as part of Rock’N Malta 2025, following a record investment of €1 million aimed at benefiting more artists.
The Minister for National Heritage, Arts and Local Government, Owen Bonnici, announced that these concerts will receive funding from Rock’N Malta for the year 2025.
This fund, administered by Festivals Malta, incentivises organisers, promoters, artists and local bands to invest in rock music by providing financial assistance as well as logistical, marketing and other forms of support.

Minister Bonnici explained that Rock’N Malta continues to grow in popularity, with Festivals Malta receiving a record number of submissions this year.
“Thanks to these efforts, the fund has increased to €1 million, allowing more artists to benefit. This will lead to 45 projects with a total participation of around 700 artists, both local and international, further strengthening the music scene in our country,” said Dr Bonnici.
“Moreover, this investment will create more opportunities for emerging talent, foster collaboration between different artists and increase interest in live music, thereby enriching our cultural landscape,” the Minister added.
The Chairman of Festivals Malta, Aaron Zahra, spoke about the importance of this fund for the country, with the aim of continuing to support the development of local productions.
“Through Rock’N Malta, Festivals Malta continues to invest in the local music scene, particularly in rock concerts and its sub-genres. We do this not only to provide the Maltese public with high-quality concerts but also to attract visitors to our country for these events. This year, there has been significant interest in the fund and I now look forward to seeing these events come to life successfully over the coming months,” said Zahra.

Meanwhile, the Chief Executive Officer of Festivals Malta, Frans Agius, provided further details about the events and concerts taking place this year and discussed the role of Festivals Malta in managing this fund.
“Rock’N Malta, which has been administered by Festivals Malta since 2017, continues to strengthen its importance within our festival portfolio each year. Through this fund, the Festivals Malta team can offer its expertise and assistance in logistics, marketing and other key areas to further enhance the quality of events held in our country.”
The concerts benefiting from the Rock’N Malta fund this year will take place between February and December 2025.
