Summerlust Festival Opens In Għaxaq With Gigi D’Alessio, Chris Norman And More
Għaxaq Music Events have released more details on their annual festival, Summer Lust Music festival to be held on the 9th, 10th and 16th of May. The organisers are currently making their last preparations for the three spectacular concerts that will be staged in the heart of Għaxaq, at Ghaxaq Grounds, right next to the main square.
The festival will begin on Friday, 9th May, featuring Chris Norma, the original voice of the legendary group Smokie.. Although Chris Norman’s repertoire is extensive, the audience will surely be eagerly waiting for some of his Smokie greatest hits such as “Living Next Door to Alice,” “Needles and Pins,” “Oh Carol,” “Don’t Play your rock & Roll to me” and many more. Supporting Umberto Tozzi will be the local Group Different Mods and Warm up will be done by Alex Grech. The night will end by a special gig from Pierre Cordina.
On Saturday, 10th May, the audience will be entertained by the Italian singer, Gigi D’Alessio. In this unique concert, the audience can expect to hear his famous songs such as “Non dirgli mai,” “Non mollare mai,” “Un nuovo bacio” and “Un cuore malato” among others. These great artists will also be joined by Ivan Grech and his band for a full 1 hour concert who will certainly enhance the show’s atmosphere. Dj Ziggy will close the event.

After the great responses from their sponsors and also collaboration with government entities the organisers are also setting up areas where entrance will be against a donation for both Concerts.
The organisers have also planned to host another show on Friday, 16th May. The show will feature different artists from around the world who will take the audience on a nostalgic journey back to the nineties. Alice dj, ICE MC and Emma Hewitt are among the performers who will entertain the crowd that day. It should be noted that the concert is free, but tickets for the VIP area can still be purchased from www.showshappening.com.
Add donations that will be collected in the 3 nights will be forwarded to Dar Bjorn. During the last 3 years more than €50,000 were donated to charitable institutions.
