A new collection of bespoke chapbooks has been released, celebrating bold contemporary writing and artworks of Malta-based artists and writers.

Local micro-publishing house Ede Books has launched Ede Chapbooks, a series of hand-bound paperback books of artists that are established and up-and-coming.

The first six books have been written by Leanne Ellul, Antoine Cassar, Davinia Hamilton, Nadia Mifsud, Rebecca Bonaci and Sam Alekksandra.

The chapbook series, featuring writing in both Maltese and English, are made from high-quality, eco-friendly paper created from algae, olive pomace, almond and other natural raw materials.

Ede Books is uniquely placed, as one of few micro-publishing ventures in Malta producing publications that support artists exploring poetry, photography, architecture, and urban culture.

If you’re interested in supporting and engaging with Malta’s artistic culture – or in the quiet contemplation which might be offered to you through this collection, or any of the books published within it, you can take a closer look here.
