Watch: Kunts In Nadur And Giants In Valletta! Carnival 2025 Kicks Off With A Bang As Thousands Party In The Streets

Carnival weekend was well and truly underway last night, with many taking to the streets of Nadur for a crazy street party the likes of which the Gozitan town has become synonymous with.
From spontaneous DIY costumes to small floats making socio-political jabs left right and centre, thousands flooded Nadur yesterday, hitting rarely-before seen numbers considering this was just Friday night. And whether it was a massive flour battle in the middle of the pjazza, a Kunt float or an army of Mr Sofritos marching along, it looked as chaotic as you’d expect!

Meanwhile, as the massive and chaotic street party took over Malta’s sister island of Gozo, things back at the capital city took an artistic flair on a much larger scale.
Last night, the streets of Valletta were lined with this year’s floats, gigantic colourful structures blasting music and radiating light.
From a spinning recreation of the Triton Fountain to a whole giant ensemble of some of Malta’s favourite DJs, places like Parliament Square got a bit louder and brighter than usual… and this is just the beginning!
