Watch: ‘Rabbit Was A Really Big Thing’ – Malta Gets Surprise Shoutout In Popular YouTube Cooking Show

A rabbit-filled cooking competition on a popular YouTube show involved Malta in the tastiest way possible.
The YouTube channel, Sorted Food, has over 2.68 million subscribers, and the video itself, which was uploaded yesterday, has already racked up over 235,000 views.
During the challenge, a chef and two ‘normals’ had to taste-test Easter foods from around the world, and guess the country they originate from.
One of the dishes consumed was the Falscher Hase mit Ei, from Germany – which translates to False Rabbit with Egg.
One of the participants, however, guessed that the dish was from Malta, as he personally remembered the famed Maltese love for rabbit.
”Well we went there once for a weekend, and rabbit was a really big thing, and he said this was post-war and wasn’t possible when rabbit was in short supply, so that was my logic,” Ben, the chef, said on the show to backup his answer.
Unfortunately, he lost the round, for the others were geographically closer to Germany with their answer – Poland.
