Nico Conti
An award-winning ceramics artist blending traditional materials with 3D printing, Nico Conti’s work represents the fusion of craft and technology. His porcelain pieces explore the juxtaposition between soft textures and rigid structures, offering a modern take on traditional craft.
The exhibition features a 3D-printed porcelain piece mimicking the delicate textures of fabric, pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in porcelain design. Conti’s work is a celebration of how modern technology can revolutionise traditional craftsmanship.
Speaking on the opportunity, Nico said, “I am excited to participate in designMT as it provides a unique platform to showcase my innovative approach to crafts. My motivation stems from a passion for merging modern technology with traditional techniques, and designMT is a good opportunity to engage with a diverse and curious audience. In the past, my work has sparked interest from people of all ages, drawn by this combination of tradition and innovation. My work will highlight 3D printing with porcelain, offering visitors a deeper understanding of how modern technology can breathe new life into traditional craft forms.”
Luis Muñoz Jean Baptiste
As a graphic designer and brand strategist, Luis’s work often questions how design impacts diverse people. His posters showcase the imaginative world of children, challenging adults to reconsider the inclusivity of their designs.
The exhibit will showcase a series of posters reflecting how children’s perspectives can inspire more inclusive design. The exhibit challenges viewers to rethink the ways in which design impacts different age groups, abilities, and backgrounds.
“I see designMT as a platform or a space for society to interact with design and to understand how design can best serve its users. What I hope to achieve in this event is to be able to connect with the people, not just designers, and exchange ideas – no matter how big or small those ideas may be,” Luis commented.
