Growing Green Future Architects: Are You The Next One?
As students aspire to pursue careers in architecture and urban design, a unique chance has emerged for those who are passionate about revitalising green spaces in Malta and Gozo.
Project Green, is offering an unprecedented invitation to students, allowing them to take the lead on environmental initiatives in these regions.
Karl Farrugia, a promising student, shared his perspective on the significance of this chance. This opportunity has enriched his educational journey by bridging the gap between theory and practical application in everyday life.
“This is a profoundly intriguing opportunity. I extend my gratitude to both the University and Project Green for giving us the chance to transform our visions from paper into reality. This is a shared aspiration – to witness our work materialise,” said Farrugia.
Another eager apprentice, Millison Zarb, explained that this apprenticeship has served as a canvas for nurturing creativity and innovation. It has also provided a platform for leaving a mark on the country’s development.
“Project Green is not merely imparting theoretical knowledge of architecture and urban planning; it is also a platform to gain practical experience within the workplace,” said Zarb.
In the past, students pursuing such courses often had to seek opportunities abroad. However, now, the country itself is offering a platform for these young talents to imprint their unique visions on the nation, explained Steve Ellul CEO of Project Green.
“While they are still in the process of learning, we are affording them the chance to take the reins. They will be the driving force behind numerous projects, with a specific focus on urban spaces that we intend to transform into green, sustainable areas,” affirmed Ellul.
