The Institute For Education Does It Differently

They do it differently!  Yes, what is offered by the Institute for Education is unique. Their courses are part-time with the lectures starting in the afternoon to increase accessibility.

The mode of delivery is blended because only when strictly necessary the sessions are held face-to-face, while the other parts are delivered online. With no compromise on interaction; through group work, forums, discussions and debates, the exchange of ideas are still possible. The number of participants accepted for each course is such that your experience remains personalised throughout because they don’t just teach, they care.

The courses are relevant because those who develop them are qualified to do so while still teaching and experiencing the school and classroom realities themselves.

To top it off, they do not use examinations as a tool to assess. They’ve had enough of this type of assessment that tries to assess what we know but instead judges only a sample of outcomes at one moment in time.

Instead, their assessments are continuous and take into consideration all the outcomes providing reliable and valid results which are fair. Along with the assignment title, their participants are provided with a rubric. A transparent process which ensures that the evidence of learning is assessed against the criteria in the rubric and not against the work done by peer course participants.

The Institute for Education is a tertiary Education institution licenced by MFHEA Licence 2016-006. The courses target anyone who prefers to work and study simultaneously.  The Bachelor’s, Master’s Degrees and all other accredited courses offered are nationally and internationally recognised.

Their courses will get you right where you want to be – a qualified regular teacher. Despite not being the only requirement, their courses will also open the gateway to becoming a warranted teacher. In 2018, the Institute for Education launched the Bachelor of Education Degree, a 4-year part-time, blended course currently offering a variety of 13 subject streams. This gives the possibility to anyone who has an MQF Level 4 qualification such as a MATSEC certificate or A-Levels or an MCAST diploma to follow the course while working full-time and become a regular teacher.

This year they also launched the B.A(Hons) Early Years, Learning and Care which is a top-up degree targeting Kindergarten educators, offered jointly with MCAST. The Institute for Education also offers twenty Master of Education Degrees in a variety of subjects or areas. These target those who already hold a Bachelor’s Degree which is not in education but wish to pursue a career in teaching.

Did you know that after successfully completing the first two years of their Master’s degree you would already be eligible for regular teaching post?

The Institute for Education is also renowned for the Master in Applied Educational Leadership, a course which leads educators to develop those competencies required to become effective Heads of School.

Meanwhile, the Master in STEM Education and Engagement is offered through a combination of online and weekend workshops empowering participants with strategies that engage audiences with STEM.

And yes they never stop! In September 2022 they will be holding the Neuroscience of Learning symposium. A fairly new area in education, but incredibly important.

Get the opportunity to understand how the brain works, how it impacts the decisions we make, and how the process of learning takes place. Attendees will learn how to make learning efficient and effective according to the biological and chemical possibilities of the complex organ that is – the brain.

Currently, 350 participants have chosen to study for a qualification at the Institute for Education. Don’t miss out on the opportunity of becoming one of them! Contact them for more details on their courses.

Applications are open till the 15th June 2022.
