Read: The LSE Saga Continues As CRPD Slams Teachers Union

Tensions continue to rise on the LSE shortage issue after the Commission for the Rights of Persons with Disability (CRPD) slams the Union of Professional Educators (UPE) after the statement it made on Monday.
“The Directive issued by the UPE is denying the children who do not have an LSE their right to an education and CRPD calls on the Education Authorities and the UPE come together to agree on a way to release the LSEs of year 11 students so that they can support other disabled students who require their service,” the CRPD said in a statement.

This comes after the UPE requested its members to report any pressures made by the Education authorities and to not adhere to the directives issued by the same entity.
CRPD agreed with UPE’s Mr Sansone who claimed that this situation is a human resources issue. However, CRPD slammed UPE’s directive given to its members, saying that it is making matters worse for everyone.
