Understanding Dyslexia Beyond Literacy: Workshop For Parents And Educators To Help Their T(w)eens In Learning

Dyslexia’s impact extends beyond challenges in reading and writing, it also affects skills like attention, memory and information processing.

Learning 360°Foundation and Empowering Dyslexia have joined forces to create a seminar and workshop specifically designed to help guardians and educators to understand dyslexia beyond literacy titled “Learning Unlocked”.

This event will be split over two nights, both held at Deloitte Place, Imrieħel.On 16th October, attendees will have the opportunity to listen to a seminar led by two experts on dyslexia where founder and director of the Educational Neuroscience Hub Erika Galea will share how the brain works and how this knowledge can improve teaching and learning strategies for individuals with dyslexia and educator Jennifer Formosa will dive into how dyslexia affects planning, organisation, attention and memory and will offer practical tips to help support these areas in learners.

 

On 22nd October, a hands-on workshop will take place where attendees will have the opportunity to explore strategies to enhance executive functioning skills focused on memory, attention and planning and will acquire practical tools to aid in helping their t(w)eens.
