Daniel Attard Also Abstains From European Parliament Presidential Election

Labour MEP Daniel Attard has abstained from voting for a new European Parliament election to be “consistent with all he’s said during his campaign”.
“Never against Malta. But I can’t vote in favour of those who put personal advancement before the national interest,” Attard wrote on social media.
“So, in line with what I said during the campaign and my principles, this morning I chose to abstain.”
Both Attard and Alex Agius Saliba abstained from voting in this historic election, stating that neither candidate was in line with their personal principles.
Metsola received the highest number of votes ever in European history gaining 562 out of 623 valid votes.
