Former Partit Demokratiku Candidate Lee Bugeja Bartolo To Contest MEP Election With PN
Lee Bugeja Bartolo, once a candidate of the short-lived Partit Demokratiku, has been confirmed as a Nationalist Party candidate for the upcoming European Parliament elections.
A 33-year-old aerospace engineer, Bugeja Bartolo used to be secretary-general of the PD, whose candidates had contested the 2017 general election on the PN ticket and won 128 first-count votes on the seventh and eighth districts.
After Adrian Delia was elected PN leader in 2017, Bugeja Bartolo notably took part in a casual election as part of a strategy by PD to block Delia from entering Parliament. However, he didn’t get elected and ended up departing the political scene.
Meanwhile, PD merged with Alternattiva Demokratika to form ADPD.
Bugeja Bartolo becomes the PN’s eighth MEP candidate, joining incumbent Roberta Metsola and David Casa, as well as David Agius, Peter Agius, Miriana Calleja Testaferrata de Noto, Norma Camilleri, and LouiseAnne Pulis.
