A week and a half before the country makes its voice heard, Roberta Metsola and Alex Agius Saliba remain in first and second position respectively, with Metsola, the EU parliament president leading by five points.

The survey conducted by MaltaToday, shows Metsola leading at 19.6% and Agius Saliba right behind her at 14.2%.

Despite these numbers, and with a week left to go till voting day, 55% of voters said they’re still unsure which candidate to vote for meaning both candidates may have an increased voting tally on election day.

The Labour respondents show indecisiveness which might be related to the “absence of political heavy weights in a Labour ticket mostly made of new-comers.” MaltaToday says.

Metsola and Agius Saliba are the only two candidates whose score is larger than the survey’s margin of error, which means that the results of other candidates aren’t accurate.

Although results of independent candidates aren’t precise, Arnold Cassola and Norman Lowell are at 8th and 9th place for voters’ first choice at 0.8% and 0.7% respectively, with Cassola in 4th place in second preference for Metsola’s voters at 3.2% passing PN candidate Norma Camilleri at 1.2%
