Roberta Metsola Meets Alexei Navalny’s Grieving Widow And Invites Her To Address European Parliament
European Parliament President Roberta Metsola has met up with Alexei Navalny’s widow Yulia Navalnaya and invited her to address a plenary session in Strasbourg next week.
“Together, we will honour Alexei Navalny’s legacy,” Metsola wrote to Instagram.
Navalny, a Russian opposition leader and one of Vladimir Putin’s most ardent internal critics, passed away at a Siberia prison on 16th February and his death caused an international uproar.

“I have no right to give up. I will continue the work of Alexei Navalny. I will continue to fight for our country and I urge you to stand next to me,” Yulia stated in a video addressing the situation.
“Putin killed not just the man Alexei Navalny, he wanted to kill our hope, our freedom, our future,” she continued. “Today I want to be with you because I know that you have lost no less than I have lost.”
