Roberta Metsola has walked into the Hemicycle of Strasbourg’s European Parliament ahead of the presidential election where she will be hoping to get re-elected.

The other contender is Spain’s Irene Montero who’s part of the leftist Podemos party. The voting will be done in three rounds and in the case that there’s a tie – meaning neither candidate wins the absolute majority – the seat will go to the eldest contender; in this case, it’s Metsola.
