Camp Make Believe: A Magical Maltese RPG Adventure For Kids And Families

The Wanderer’s Tome, the ENNIE-nominated indie studio behind Flabbergasted!, is thrilled to announce the upcoming launch of Frances & Ġorġ: Camp Make Believe, a beginner-friendly, educational tabletop roleplaying game designed for kids aged five and up (and their grown-ups!). The crowdfunding campaign for Camp Make Believe has gone live here.
Created in collaboration with illustrator Moira Scicluna Zahra of Studio Meltdown, Camp Make Believe invites young players into a magical world of boundless imagination, kindness, and creativity. In Camp Make Believe, kids become campers who embark on eight fantastical quests, from helping forgetful mermaids to hosting dance parties for dinosaurs, all whilst learning essential social-emotional skills like empathy, courage, and self-expression.
Perfect for RPG-loving parents, this game uses incredibly simple gameplay mechanics and features a collection of printable activities to keep kids engaged and learning. With its silly-yet-sincere tone, Camp Make Believe gently guides children through the act of collaborative storytelling, rewarding both patience and creativity.
Each completed quest earns players a sticker badge that they can proudly add to their character’s camper sash. Quest activities include rolling dice, colouring in, drawing, and fun physical challenges, all designed to keep children active and engaged.
Wanderer’s Tome and Studio Meltdown are both run by Maltese women, with Camp Make Believe being their very first TTRPG released in English and Maltese languages: making for a true celebration of Maltese culture and female-led roleplaying games.
Perfect for rainy days, classrooms, or children’s therapy settings, Camp Make Believe requires no prior RPG experience. With built-in debrief prompts after each quest, it also doubles as a learning tool for emotional reflection and growth.
