Robert Abela To Consult Kids On Future White Rocks National Park
Prime Minister Robert Abela has announced that next week, the first consultation with children will take place to hear their ideas for the future White Rocks National Park.
Speaking at a political event in Żejtun, Dr Abela said the government wants to balance economic development with investment in green and open spaces for families, ensuring Malta’s protected areas continue to grow.
Dr Abela highlighted that under a Labour Government, the amount of protected land and parks in Malta will surpass Germany and even be one-and-a-half times larger than Denmark when White Rocks, Manoel Island, and Fort Campbell are returned to the people.
Looking back on the year, he also stressed Malta’s economic achievements, noting the country now has the lowest unemployment rate in the EU, with more jobs in managerial, professional, and technical roles, and a significant increase in basic wages.
On the political front, the Prime Minister criticised the Opposition for “playing footsie politics” over foreign workers, highlighting that while the Nationalist Party complains about the presence of foreigners, its own leadership represents companies that employ them.
Dr Abela also reminded the public that the Labour Government has delivered €820 million in tax cuts for families since 2013, and confirmed that a Labour fundraising marathon will take place on Sunday, with full transparency on the party’s audited accounts.
