Xjenza Malta, through Esplora, has launched “A Child’s Dream for Malta 2050 Vision”, an event forming part of the national consultation process for the Malta 2050 Vision. The main aim of this initiative is to encourage younger generations to share their ideas, dreams and aspirations for a more sustainable and resilient Malta.

The event will take place on Thursday 31st July, from 3pm onwards at Esplora, offering children and their families an interactive experience including live science experiments, hands-on activities, traditional games and sessions with animators in a fun and educational environment.

Through this initiative, Xjenza Malta continues to encourage children and young people to play an active role in shaping Malta’s future, while creating a platform for collaboration between families, educators and the wider community.

During his speech at the event launch, Parliamentary Secretary for Youth, Research and Innovation, Keith Azzopardi Tanti, said: “The Malta 2050 Vision process is not complete without the voices of our youth. Through initiatives like this, we are creating a space where children can express their dreams and where creativity, innovation and inclusion are prioritised in our future planning.”

Mary Ann Cauchi, Senior Director at Esplora, added: “At Esplora, we believe that every boy and girl is a scientist and visionary at heart. This event will allow them to explore, ask questions and dream about the kind of Malta they wish to live in – because their voices are essential in building our collective future.”

President Emeritus, Her Excellency Marie-Louise Coleiro Preca, stated: “Children are not just tomorrow’s leaders – they are active citizens today. We must empower them to dream, speak up and feel that their contribution is essential in shaping a more inclusive, fair and sustainable Malta. This is not just a symbolic initiative; it is a concrete step towards intergenerational dialogue and shared responsibility.”

This initiative reflects Malta 2050 Vision’s commitment to involving all generations in creating a long-term and inclusive national plan. Families, educators and children are invited to join this unique event that brings together science, creativity and inspiration for Malta’s future.
