Watch: Malta Doubles For Boston In New American Thriller

When a homicide detective loses the majority of his hearing in an ‘on work accident’, he fears his career is all but over. However, ‘The Silent Hour’ takes the viewer on a journey of how this detective used his newfound disability to solve a compelling murder case by communicating with a mute witness.

Paramount studio’s new film is set to release sometime in October, however, what most Maltese are realising is that in this fictional depiction of Boston, Malta is set to double for the popular US city.

Although unclear, the locations most frequently used seem to be the Freeport in Birżebbuġa and our very own capital, Valletta. However, this production is filming across eight different locations around the Maltese Islands and is employing a crew of 117 people, 90 of whom are locals.
