Malta Rumoured To Be The Primary Filming Location For The Passion Of The Christ Sequel
In the latest film news, the sequel to the spectacular 2004 film, The Passion of The Christ is rumoured to start filming in 2025… and in Malta?!
Appropriately titled, “The Passion of the Christ: Resurrection”, original director, Mel Gibson came out to confirm that the sequel is underway and will likely start filming in 2025. More information shows that the revival will see Jim Caviezel possibly reprising his role as Jesus.
Talks of a sequel have been floating since 2023, when Mel Gibson himself spoke openly about script ideas and other possibilities for the addition. The plotline is said to follow the events after the resurrection of Jesus and will allegedly feature scenes beyond the human realm.
On top of everything, people are speculating that the primary filming location might just be our very own Island. Rumours started floating after the sighting of Gibson in Malta in recent weeks, as well as his meetup with Prime Minister Robert Abela, among others.
