Stargate Studios Malta Scores Emmy Nomination For Black Mirror Episode’s Visual Effects

Stargate Studios Malta is nominated for an Emmy for its work on the “USS Callister- Into Infinity” episode from the latest season of Black Mirror.
Black Mirror has received 10 nominations by program including awards for Outstanding Limited or Anthology series, Outstanding Lead Actress in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie, and Outstanding Special Visual Effects in a single episode.
“Massive news! We are absolutely chuffed to announce that we’re nominated for an Emmy for our work on the mind-bending episode ‘USS Callister – Into Infinity’ from the latest season of Black Mirror!” wrote Stargate Studios Malta on social media.
Black Mirror is a series set in an abstrusely dystopian future where several individuals grapple with the manipulative effects of cutting edge technology in their personal lives and behaviours.
The studios went on to thank its team led by VFX supervisor Jonathan Caruana “who brought the visuals to life.” The post also went on to thank the Black Mirror creative team- Charlie Brooker, Josie Henwood and James MacLaachlan for their trust in the studios for this project for another season.
“It’s been an absolute privilege to work on it. We’re honoured to be recognised for our hard work and dedication. Fingers crossed for the big night!” wrote Stargate Studios Malta.
It all comes down to 15th September at Peacock Theater, California where Hollywood favourites and newcomers will be gathered under one roof to celebrate the best in American prime time television, as chosen by the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences.
