Watch: Ciao Ciao – Malta’s Upcoming Satirical Film Unveils Trailer Ahead Of March Premiere
Get ready for Ciao Ciao, the Maltese film that turns a simple goodbye into an all-night unraveling of chaos, tension, and hilariously uncomfortable moments.
From the team behind Uwijja, this comedic satire explores the social dance of farewells gone wrong—when polite smiles crumble, secrets spill, and the night refuses to end.
The film, directed by Keith A. Tedesco, stars a powerhouse ensemble cast including Chris Dingli, Antonella Axisa, Mikhail Basmadjian, and Simone Spiteri. Shot in striking black and white using vintage Mamiya lenses, the cinematography adds a timeless, almost theatrical feel to the unraveling drama.

What’s Ciao Ciao About?
We’ve all been there—escorting guests to the door, saying our goodbyes… and somehow, the conversation drags on for 20 minutes, 40 minutes, maybe even an hour.
Ciao Ciao takes this concept to the extreme, following two old school friends who reconnect over dinner with their partners in tow. What starts as a friendly reunion spirals into an endless farewell filled with awkward truths, bubbling tensions, and unexpected twists.
Adding to the mystery, the film weaves in three interconnected stories, exploring themes of nostalgia, regret, and the unpredictable nature of human relationships.
With a mix of satire, drama, romance, and mystery, Ciao Ciao promises to be a cinematic experience that’s both hilarious and deeply thought-provoking.
