As the weekend approaches, it’s important to not deny your deepest cravings, and the desire for Chinese takeout is very real. Here are some great places to swoop past, settle in with a good film and tuck into all night.

1. China Town

By far one of Malta’s go-to places for Chinese takeout (or delivery, if you’re feeling extra lazy). The billboards that China Town have around the island serve as a constant reminder that sometimes, all you need is a little visual encouragement to get those cravings going. 

2. Jimmy’s Wok

This Asian Fusion restaurant in Birkirkara offers a cosy atmosphere for a wonderful evening with family and friends, but it can also satisfy your need for just taking your guilty pleasures home with you.

3. Pavilion Palace

One of the older ‘kids on the block’, the Pavilion Palace’s restaurants in Ta’ Xbiex and St. Andrews have been around for more than a decade. This experience effortlessly translates onto their menu and special offers, including an amazing 10% discount on take-aways.

4. China House

2017 will see the New China House celebrating its 20th anniversary (not so new, huh?). You might want to sit down and enjoy the beautiful interior and their delicious sizzling plates, but who doesn’t love to put that aside for some down time takeout nights?

5. Jade Garden

This San Ġiljan restaurant is great as a weekly dinner haunt, a Sunday lunch, or just a generally awesome place to pick up a plate or seven of Chinese and take it all home.

6. Peking

This Chinese restaurant in the heart of Buġibba has an insanely long menu including soups, chicken, duck, seafood and vegetables. Their favourites, however, are the aromatic crispy chicken and the beef with green peppers and mushrooms!

7. Shaukiwan

This Chinese restaurant is situated at the very top of Xemxija Hill, so if you’re in the North and are looking for some good Chinese takeout, this one’s a winner.

8. Little Wok

Another great Chinese restaurant in Buġibba, this time as close as they get to the square.

9. Da Hua

Mosta’s Da Hua focuses a lot of its energy on its varied (and very cheap) takeaway menu, which is all made fresh.

10. Furama

Sometimes, all you need is a big tinfoil dish stuffed with noodles and beef mushroom, and if you’re anywhere near Marsa or Ħamrun, this is where it’s at

11. Grand China

Marsascala’s Grand China restaurant comes very highly recommended, with five stars all over on tripadvisor. Perhaps the most important positive feedback is about the fast and ‘very hot’ delivery.

12. Nan Yuan

Nan Yuan is one of Valletta Waterfront’s crown jewels, and with its extremely photogenic dishes, it’s pretty easy to see why.
